JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Service Technician with Wilson Tool, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and fixing issues at customer’s locations on Wilson Tool product. Technicians have a secondary responsibility to provide customer support by telephone on general operation and troubleshooting of machine problems. This position will spend a significant amount of time traveling to customer’s facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Travel to customer locations to diagnose complex technical problems and perform on-site repair
- Diagnose technical problems and troubleshoot via telephone
- Effectively interpret schematics and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problems
- Document in detail product problems and resolutions
- Other duties as assigned
- Extensive travel necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of how to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Customer service work experience.
- Strong interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to proficiently speak, read, and write in English.
- Ability to communicate technical product and complex manufacturing related information.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in electronics or equivalent
- Technical service and manufacturing work experience.
- Technical mathematics knowledge to calculate dimensions and clearances.
- Ability to effectively document and communicate ideas, strategies, problems, and solutions in both verbal and written forms to co-workers and customers.
- Ability to prepare written service reports and other necessary supportive documentation.
- Must be able to travel at any time to various customer locations, which includes having or being able to obtain a passport.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Job operates mainly indoors, Office and some manufacturing floor, but is exposed to changing weather conditions, such as extreme hot or cold, rain, sun, wind, etc. This job also works near moving mechanical parts and the noise level is moderate to loud. This position generally has a lot of driving and overtime work. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license is required as some travel may be required to visit customer sites or support trade shows.

Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds, recurrent lifting of 11-20 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of 21-50 or more pounds. Also requires constant pushing and pulling of 1-50 pounds and infrequent pushing and pulling of over 50 pounds with the aid of handcarts or other wheeled devices. Good visual and color acuity are a must to perform this type of job.
