Team Support Tech – Press Brake Division- 2nd Shift - (Specials)

Job Title: Team Support Tech – Press Brake Division (Bending)

Position Overview:
The Team Support Tech is responsible for providing technical support, training, and workflow coordination across departments, with a focus on the Specials Milling and Grinding cells within the Press Brake Division. This role ensures smooth production operations by addressing programming, set-ups, and process concerns while maintaining efficiency and quality standards. The Team Support Tech operates, sets up, and troubleshoots a variety of machines to produce metal parts of various sizes and shapes.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide programming and technical support for jobs in the work area and from other departments.

  • Operate and maintain machines in the Specials Milling and Grinding cells, including set-ups, operation, and troubleshooting.

  • Maintain established product schedules, direct workflow, and ensure all steps required to complete jobs are understood and followed.

  • Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements independently.

  • Read and interpret technical prints, including dimensions, tolerances, and problem-solving requirements.

  • Train and/or assist with machine set-ups and technical procedures as needed.

  • Communicate and train team members on proper job procedures and workflow.

  • Conduct technical training and maintain training documentation, including department skills matrices for cross-training purposes.

  • Perform first part inspections as needed or required.

  • Troubleshoot technical and machine issues to minimize downtime.

  • Collaborate with Engineering to document workflows, recommend process improvements, and support value stream mapping.

  • Support all shifts; work all shifts as required.

  • Operate machines as necessary and support multiple departments or be reassigned as needed.

  • Communicate personnel issues and concerns to Lead Supervision.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate with a 2-year Machine Tool Technology or Tool & Die degree, or currently enrolled 2nd-year students in these programs.

  • Strong mechanical and technical abilities; experience with editing programs, machine set-ups, and an understanding of G&M codes.

  • Ability to move freely among machines as workload demands.

  • Ability to read blueprints, technical data, and routings.

  • Proficient in machine tooling mathematics, including trigonometry and algebra.

  • Effective communication, training, and teamwork skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and adaptability abilities.

  • Dependable, accountable, and motivated to support team goals.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequently lift or move up to 35 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.

  • Continuous exposure to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise.

  • Stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.

  • Frequent reaching, handling, grasping, pinching, pulling, and repetitive motions.

  • Continuous requirement for specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus.

  • Continuous use of required personal protective equipment, including eye protection.

Work Environment:

  • Inside, manufacturing environment.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM - 11PM

Compensation:

  • DOE; $ 37 -$39.00 p/hour (Advanced Machinist I (AMI) pay scale) + $1.00 shift differential.
