Production Engineering & Planning Support (1st Shift)

SUMMARY
Responsible for planning and manufacturing engineering support maximizing efficiency by ensuring Master Data, BOM’s, Routings, Costing, and Pricing information is maintained for all products. Is responsible for basic engineering and production planning support for all manufacturing divisions including ECR’s and Master Data work. Helps train and support production planning department and engineers on Material Master related work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Master data maintenance (materials, bill of materials, pricing & routings)
  • Master data projects (mass fixes, queries, reporting)
  • Review and complete material related ECR’s and recommend updates to production standards
  • Helps Engineering with new product costing and/or pricing analysis
  • Conducts advanced planning within the SAP system
  • Assists Planning with Production scheduling and input to raw materials purchasing as needed
  • Regular communication with Production Supervision, shop floor and others
  • Other Engineering or Production Control support duties as needed

TECHNICAL SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gives direction to Production planning on processes and daily duties as needed
  • Some training responsibilities for other Production Control personnel
  • Some training for material master, master data, bill of materials (BOM’s), routings, for engineers

QUALIFICATIONS
  • SAP experience required.
  • Excel proficiency required.
  • Print reading skills required.
  • Experience with planning / MRP preferred.
  • Significant product knowledge, multiple new product projects, and material master experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of our production environment and the product flow within Wilson Tool strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Post secondary education preferred.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • 2+ years’ working in SAP.
  • 2+ years’ experience with production scheduling and inventory control preferred.
  • 1+ year working with SOLIDWORKS.
  • 3+ years’ working in a manufacturing environment.
