Supply Chain Manager

SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Manager reports directly to the Global VP of Operations and is responsible for managing and integrating Purchasing, Production Control, Logistics, and inventory functions to ensure seamless, efficient, and cost-effective supply chain performance.  The manager collaborates closely with sales and production to maintain optimal flow of goods and information. The manager supports strategic initiatives by translating high-level strategy into actionable operational plans, along with emphasizing operational excellence, team leadership, and continuous improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage day-to-day supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory control, and order fulfillment to optimize supply chain performance.
  • Supervise and develop supply chain staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with R&D, marketing, production, sales, and accounting teams to align supply chain activities with demand forecasts and production schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure accuracy and availability, minimizing excess stock and shortages.
  • Directly responsible for inventory management, including financial oversight and optimization of inventory value and working capital.
  • Implement and utilize supply chain management systems and technologies for improved visibility and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to mitigate risk, ensure timely delivery of materials, and resolve any supply issues.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and logistics providers to secure favorable terms and ensure a reliable supply of materials and services while also managing vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and relevant regulations in all supply chain activities.
  • Oversee and coordinate quality control inspections of incoming purchased materials and components, ensuring all items meet required specifications and promptly addressing any non-conformances with suppliers.
  • Champion continuous improvement by leveraging technology and best practices to boost supply chain efficiency, quality, and sustainability—identifying bottlenecks, eliminating waste, and applying Lean, flow-based principles.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to the Global VP of Operations on supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities. Serve as the primary point of contact for supply chain matters.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience managing large-scale inventory and leading multi-functional supply chain.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations management.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, negotiating, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, procurement processes, and logistics best practices.
  • Certifications such as APICS CSCP or ISM CPSM are a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing risk and compliance with materials purchased or produced.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands and work environment are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. In addition to continuous sitting and working on a computer, the role may involve continuous reaching forward between shoulder/waist, bending/twisting/rotating, and simple grasping and writing. Occasional exposure to an indoor manufacturing environment, chemicals, and/or fumes may occur. The ability to stand and walk frequently and occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs. is required.

COMPENSATION
$130k - $160k DOQ

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Inside; Office and some manufacturing floor.
