JOB SUMMARY
The Team Lead provides continuous improvement and daily support to their work area. The primary focus of the Team Lead is to help solve problems within Stamping - Finishing.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support daily production and problem solving
- Respond to problems and needs, identify trends and solve issues that cause interruptions – Use PDCA as needed
- Lead start up meetings daily, CI meetings weekly, and follow Team Lead standard work
- Daily coaching, training, and support of team members
- Act as the primary trainer for the area, maintain department skills matrix to drive cross training program
- Audit jobs to confirm that the standard work is being followed and is current – make adjustments using team input
- Sustainment of systems (metrics, standard work, quality, 5S, PDCA, etc.)
- Coach and mentor team members in Continuous Improvement methods and tools
- Run machines to cover for lost time or to allow STAR work by others
- Lead, manage, and execute improvement projects
- Continuous process improvement
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven success as a Machinist with Wilson Tool
- Passion for continuous improvement
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Must be able to run or have the capability of learning to run all machines in the cell/value stream.
- Capable of carrying projects through to completion with minimal supervision.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and train team members
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft office, typing, 10 key, and internet navigation
- Ability to learn Excel and/or SAP if needed

- Must work well with others

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time; 1
st shift (7:00am – 3:00pm)
COMPENSATION
Machinist or Advanced Machinists pay scales based on technical skill and job duties plus Team Lead premium.
Team Lead premium ranges from $.50 to $2.00 per hour based on individual performance to the established Team Lead competencies.
