SUMMARY
The Assistant Business Unit Leader – Sales Desk supports the Press Brake Sales Desk department, ensuring the team meets performance goals and provides excellent customer service. This role involves assisting in managing daily sales activities, coaching team members, resolving customer and sales issues, and ensuring smooth communication between the sales team and other departments. The Assistant BUL plays a key role in driving sales performance and optimizing the sales process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team Support & Coaching
- Assist the Sales Desk BUL in leading, training, and mentoring the Sales Desk team to achieve sales targets.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and feedback to Sales Desk personnel to enhance their performance and sales techniques.
- Help with onboarding and training new sales staff on products, systems, and best practices.
- Assist with monitoring daily performance metrics and provide suggestions for improvement to team members.

- Oversee daily sales activities, ensuring the team is efficiently managing leads, inquiries, and follow-ups.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of sales documentation, such as quotes, orders, and invoices.
- Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as call volume, conversion rates, and sales targets.
- Customer Support & Problem Resolution
- Handle escalated customer issues or complex inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure that all customer interactions are documented in the CRM system for accurate tracking.
- Assist in maintaining strong customer relationships by ensuring high-quality service and prompt issue resolution.
- Sales Process Optimization
- Assist in analyzing sales processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Provide feedback to the sales team on how to optimize workflows, manage time effectively, and increase sales.
- Work with the BUL to implement new strategies to increase efficiency and achieve sales goals.
- Ensure the maintenance of the shared directory is updated and managed regularly.
- Act as the SAP and VC development resource.

- Act as a liaison between the sales team and other departments such as Outside Sales and operations.
- Ensure the Sales Desk team is informed about product updates, promotions, and pricing changes.
- Assist in preparing regular sales reports for management, highlighting team performance and key insights.
- Participate in regular sales meetings, contributing to discussions on team performance, goals, and challenges.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the Press Brake Sales Desk role, with some leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with SAP and sales processes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands and work environment are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. In addition to continuous sitting and working on a computer, the role may involve continuous reaching forward between shoulder/waist, bending/twisting/rotating, and simple grasping and writing. Occasional exposure to an indoor manufacturing environment, chemicals, and/or fumes may occur. The ability to stand and walk frequently and occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs. is required. May require working additional hours during peak production periods.
