INTERNAL - Assistant Business Unit Leader - 2nd Shift, Bending

JOB SUMMARY
As a leader at Wilson Tool, the  Assistant Business Unit Leader (Asst BUL) on 2nd shift in Bending must be committed to upholding the values, policies, and standards of the company. They must first and foremost be an effective leader of people, an effective communicator, positive coach and motivator, and capable of building a high performance team of employees.  The  Asst BUL should be available and visible, supportive, able to maintain order and consistency, avoid favoritism, gather input, advocate for their people, hold their people accountable, drive and/or support change, and be a positive role model.  
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the BUL on 1st shift in supervising remployees, equipment, and department processes of assigned work group
  • Responsible for daily production, quality, and on-time completion of customer orders
  • Availability and knowledge to answer technical questions in the work area and from other departments
  • Must have the skills to understand and teach the operations of all departmental equipment
  • Directs work-flow, answer questions, follows and communicates steps necessary to complete jobs
  • Provide supervisory expertise which includes; training others, handling technical questions, and print reading
  • Responsible for time and attendance duties, timely performance evaluations, performance (quality and production) tracking, and effective coaching
  • Organize and utilize lean principles and events.
  • Drive to improve quoting lead-time and overall customer satisfaction
  • Ensure adherence and compliance to quality s
  • Utilize and drive the corrective action process and initiatives. (PPM Reduction)
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have leadership aptitude; ability to mentor, coach, inspire, and create a successful work environment
  • Four year degree in business, engineering, related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of parts and machining processes, tolerances, dimensions, and inspection procedures
  • Technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and the ability to train others
  • Product and manufacturing processes knowledge
  • Strong communication skills will be needed to interact with shop, outside sales force and management.
  • Ability and willingness to use communication tools such as “open door policy” to ensure open communication across all work group members

COMPENSATION
Machining Payscale + BUL Pay Scale + 2nd shift Premium
