HIRING/SIGN-ON INCENTIVE A sign-on bonus ($1,500) is a lump sum payment that serves as a recruitment incentive for candidates hired as Machinists in this critical position only. This initiative aids in the employment of individuals for critical positions with labor market shortages that affect business needs and impair the delivery of essential services. An employee shall receive one-half of the bonus following 90 days of employment and a second installment after successful completion of 180 days of full-time employment. The bonus payment is subject to state and federal taxes and withholdings. Internal applicants do not qualify for the hiring bonus. JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the operation of a milling and grinding cell to produce metal parts of various sizes and shapes within the Bending Division. Machinists at Wilson Tool set up, operate and adjust machines to perform a wide variety of machining operations. WORK ENVIRONMENT Indoors. Well-lit and temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. WORK SCHEDULE Full-time; 3rd shift (11pm - 7am) Sunday - Thursday COMPENSATION Machinist pay scale $23.30 - $31.00, depending on experience + $1.30 shift differential for 3rd shift and $1,500 hiring bonus. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operates machines according to the following process:
Inspect and set up machines manually or using small hand tools
Inspect and change fixtures as necessary
Place piece/part into fixture/machine
Set dials, switches, and programs to begin process
Monitor machine and make preparations for next piece/part
Remove part from the machine when done and inspect the part to verify its dimensions
Repeat until the job is finished or on another machine
Minimum of two years of relevant machining experience
Strong mechanical and technical abilities/experience
Demonstrated success using technical math skills such as Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry in practical applications
Ability to set up multiple styles of machines, along with an understanding of G&M Codes
Be willing and able to freely move amongst work cells operating machines as workload demands
Be able to read technical data such as blueprints and routings
Demonstrated ability to accurately use advanced measuring tools
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, typing, 10 key, and internet navigation
